School and community maintenance

Without a school, where do kids get an education? Sadly, the answer is: They do not.

HOPE & HOME: Volunteer Program is one of few organizations that targets its activities towards a specific school and strives to bring that school up to basic educational levels. Your contribution will be targeted to one school and you will be able to track the progress of your school and its students.

Education is a priority in Nepal because it is a crucial building block in the country's reconstruction and revitalization. However, thousands of children are deprived of an education because there are not enough schools in Nepal, especially in rural areas where 75 percent of the nation's population lives.

First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win.

- Mahatma Gandhi

The Nepalese government simply does not have enough money to meet the demand for the construction of new schools.

That is where Hope and Home steps in. We strive to close this educational gap by funding the construction and renovation of kindergarten and elementary schools. A two-room school can be built or renovated for as little as $5,500. But your little help would be highly appreciated.

Nepal is moving from an agricultural society into an commercial one. This transition is stressing the education system at all levels, especially when it comes to primary schools.

Hope and Home strives to create access to basic education for students in rural and underserved areas so they might have a chance at participating in the emerging economy.

Recent Project for:

School Name: Nateshwori Primary School
Location: Changu, Bhaktapur

volunteers are needed to plaster and paint classrooms and to build a wall around the property of the school.

The school cares for children of local communities who do not otherwise have access to adequate education. Many classrooms still lack electricity, chair, desk, book and stationery supplies and even windows.
