Trek type:- Camping and Lodge Trek
Min / Max height :- 1950 m / 4600m.
Trek Starting:- Sundarijal
Trek Ending Point:- Melamche

This short trek into the Helambu region takes you through the heart of the Yolmu (Sherpa) culture. The trek can be conducted both as a lodge trek or as a camping trek depending on what one prefers. The Yolmu people are actually Sherpas from who migrated to the Helambu region long ago. They have many similarities in appearance, customs, hospitality and devotion to the more well-known Tibetan Buddhist Sherpas of the Khumbu region, but they have their own language and customs which are slightly different. The valley, hidden among oak, rhododendron and fir forests and following a glacial river is one of the most sacred Tibetan Buddhist place in Nepal. Historic lamas such as Mila Repa, a legendary Tibetan poet, chose as a meditation site. The mountain scenery provides a stunning backdrop for a transcendental experience. Moderate elevations and easy access from Kathmandu make this an ideal wintertime trek.
