First Phase
HOPE & HOME
runs the first phase of the program at Kathmandu. It covers
language and cultural classes, visits to important places in Kathmandu
valley. We
organizes guided city tours of Kathmandu.
The length of the training program
depends on the duration of the volunteering period. If you are
volunteering for less than four weeks, the program may be shortened.
This basic training program to prepare you for the cultural
differences, to understand enough Nepali language to function in a
village where few English speakers live.

Second Phase
After
general orientation in the first phase, volunteers leave for village/home
stay.
Volunteers will live with local families, eat
traditional Nepalese food, observe village culture and get a general feel
for village life.
During
this time volunteers will have some classroom observation and practice
teaching sessions in the local school to prepare for placement.

For a small extra cost, participants will have the
opportunity to join in a range of exciting recreational activities
during their stay. We can organise trekking, rafting and
safari as per your interest, but cost does not includes in our
program fees.

TREKKING TOUR
At the end of your placement, you have the opportunity to join guided trek in Annapurna
region. The trek passes from village to
village through lush valleys with spectacular mountain views.
Accommodation will be provided in tea-houses on route. Length of
trekking depends on the interest of the people. |

JUNGLE SAFARI
A 2 night 3 days visit to the Chitwan National Park will be arranged.
Here you can go on Elephant
Back safari to view wild life animals and great variety of birds,
canoeing and cultural dance. |

WHITE WATER RAFTING
A full afternoon of white-water rafting on the Trishuli river will
be organised. An experienced guide will take you along a beautiful
route between the villages of Charaudi and Bhorle.

TIBET BUDGET TOUR
Tibet - " The roof of the world " is a land of
ancient Buddhist culture, interesting landscape, artistic monastery
& exotic hidden valleys. The centuries old caravan trails and Tibet
itself offers a totally different experience. You can go
overland on a scenic highway that retraces the old caravan trail or
take spectacular flight over the Himalayas. |
